Nagarhole National Park

Nagarhole National Park is situated in Kodagu and Mysore district of Karnataka. The park derives its name from the word naga meaning snake and hole referring to streams. It is located at a distance of 80 km from Mysore. Spanning over an area of 572 sq km, the park is home to elephants, sambhar, bison, sloth bears, wild dogs, tigers, leopards etc. Apart from these there are numerous reptiles and bird species in this forest. The best time to visit Nagarhole National Park is October to March. There are two entry points to this national park. Jungle safari is conducted at Nagarhole everyday in the morning and again in the afternoon.


Getting There

The nearest major railway station from Nagarhole National Park is Mysore which is well connected to other parts of the country. Hired cars are available from Mysore to reach the park. Bengaluru is the closest airport.
