Dachigam National Park is situated at a distance of 22 km from Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. It spans over an area of 141 sq. km. The variation in altitude of this national park is vast ranging from 5500 ft to 14000 ft above sea level. The forest houses a number of wild animals like Musk Deer, Leopard, Himalayan Black Bear, Himalayan Grey Langur, Leopard Cat etc. The place is also home to numerous bird species including the Black Bulbul, Himalayan Monal, Golden Oriole, Pygmy Owlet, Kashmir Flycatcher, Himalayan Griffon Vulture, Kocklass Pheasant and Bearded Vulture.
