28 Mile

28 Mile is a small village located inside Buxa Tiger Reserve. The scenery of the Bhutan Hills seen from this place is mind blowing. You can visit Buxa Fort via Santalbari from 28 Mile. Jayanti-Pukhri is another attraction. By the side of this village flows three rivers - Bala, Dima and Jayanti. The dense green forests, yellow mustard fields, deep blue sky, numerous birds and colourful butterflies make 28 Mile an ideal place to relax amid nature. Often elephants are seen bathing in the waters of Bala river. Peacocks also visit this river at dawn.


Getting There

Alipurduar is the nearest railway station. The station is connected to Kolkata and in turn to the rest of the country by rail. 28 Mile is 20 km from Alipurduar station. The place is easily accessible from Alipurduar by hired car.
