Jayanti

Jayanti is a small forest situated near Buxa Tiger Reserve in West Bengal. The forest covers an area of 780 sq km. The unmatched scenery of the forest and the distant hills of Bhutan along with Jayanti River is the main attraction of tourists. The place is home to animals like elephant, leopard, tiger, wild dog and barking deer. Mahakal Temple is 7 km from Jayanti. You can also visit Hatipota by car. The journey to Hatipota is thrilling and adventurous as you cross 3-4 rivers on the way. Another attraction is Pokhri Lake. The lake is situated on a hill, 2 km from Jayanti.

The nearest railhead is New Alipurduar which is well connected to the rest of the country by trains. Jayanti is 26 km from Alipurduar.
